The inductor and crucible of vacuum induction furnace are installed in the furnace shell made of stainless steel, and the gas in the shell is pumped by vacuum pump during steelmaking to maintain a certain vacuum degree. There are gaskets between the cover and the shell to prevent air from entering from the outside of the shell. Temperature has a great influence on the evaporation rate of manganese, because the vapor pressure of manganese increases with the increase of temperature.           • In atmospheric melting conditions, due to the high atmospheric CO partial pressure, the reaction degree is very small, but in vacuum, the CO partial pressure is close to zero, so the reaction is more intense. The result is lower carbon content and higher silicon content in liquid steel. The silicon content of steel with carbon content of 0.2% increases and carbon content decreases in al2o3-sio2 crucible.<\/li>
